The asphalt curves back and forth down the mountain slope like a ribbon, still carrying the chill of early spring. Up here, looking out over the quiet ridges, the breeze smells faintly of dry grass and pine. You can stand at the edge for a long time, watching the soft blue light settle across the valley.
